Bringing gov't closer to people: DSWD joins PCUP mini caravan to benefit urban poor communities
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Monday, July 19, that it is set to conduct information caravans on government’s programs and services that can be accessed by urban poor communities.

The DSWD bared its participation in the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) Mini Caravan, which was launched on July 14 in Arayat, Pampanga.
The PCUP caravan is currently being conducted across the country, amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
“The Department, through its various Field Offices nationwide, will conduct information caravans on the programs and services that can be accessed by the urban poor as its participation in the PCUP led-activity,” it said in a statement on Monday.
The social welfare agency said the caravan serves as a one-stop-shop of services for the people, aiming to bring the government closer to the public.
Aside from Pampanga, at least 30 other areas will be covered by the PCUP Mini Caravan until the end of the year.
“With this event, the DSWD together with the different participating agencies will be able to provide assistance and inform the public of the services that they can avail of, especially during this time of global health crisis,” the DSWD said.
