Valenzuela City's fourth Disiplina Village, the local government's housing project, is set to rise soon following its groundbreaking ceremony.
The new project located in Barangay Arkong Bato will be composed of 20 three-story buildings with 720 housing units measuring 16 square meters each.
According to the local government, the new Disiplina Village will accommodate the remaining Informal Settler Families (ISFs) who are currently living in dangerous areas such as waterways and under transmission lines.

The country's housing czar, Secretary Eduardo del Rosario, in his speech commended the local government for keeping informal settlers out of danger and building a model housing project for them.
“Si Mayor Rex ang nagsimula ng rental housing program dito sa Valenzuela and that is the direction of DHSUD most especially in urban areas dahil napakasikip na po ng ating mga siyudad (It was Mayor Rex Gatchalian who started the rental housing program in Valenzuela City, and that is the direction of Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, most especially in urban areas because our cities are already crowded).
“Sixty-five percent of residents will be residing in urban communities by 2050, so there is no way but to go up in our residential units,” he said.
Mayor Rex Gatchalian said that the local government's housing project only proves that Valenzuela is an inclusive city.
He added that the local government will continue to empower its people and build model communities and character villages.
