Filipino artist creates BTS-inspired artwork using coconut palm frond

Laguna-based artist Mary Mae Dacanay wows the internet, especially the ARMYs, with her latest leaf artwork featuring the K-pop sensation BTS.

According to a report by OpinYon Laguna, an advocacy paper in the province, the artist was inspired by the boy band's latest single and music video, "Permission to Dance," which is all about positivity and diversity. Prior to making it, Dacanay shared that she was challenged by her followers to do a leaf art using a coconut palm frond.

This is not the first time Dacanay's leaf artworks have gone viral online. Among her famous works include a tribute to the fallen soldiers of the C130 crash in Sulu and her leaf art portraits of President Rodrigo Duterte and the late former president, Benigno Aquino Jr.
