Festival Mall vows continuous support to Muntinlupa's vaccination

The management of Festival Mall in Alabang has issued a statement regarding Muntinlupa’s decision to suspend vaccination at the mall on Thursday.

“In light of the recent news that Muntinlupa City has temporarily suspended its vaccination operations at Festival Mall, we would like to express our unwavering support to the city as the LGU addresses some unexpected logistical challenges,” said Festival Mall Thursday.

On July 15, the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) announced the suspension of vaccination at Festival Mall due to problems with the storage facility at the mall that may have affected the quality of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines.

The change in temperature in the storage facility prompted MunCoVac not to use the vaccines intended for the second dose.

“Festival Mall takes pride in being a partner of Muntinlupa City in its efforts to combat COVID-19. We recently extended the complimentary use of Festival Mall's covered parking area to the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) team as a prime vaccination site in the city,” according to Festival Mall.

It said “the venue is properly ventilated, well-lit and offers ample space to allow for smooth service to the public. It also comes with the free use of electricity and meals for the operations staff.”

"With this, Festival Mall has been providing a safe and comfortable site that can accommodate up to 1,200 persons a day. We are thankful for the opportunity to be of service and we look forward to the resumption of Muntinlupa City’s vaccination operations soonest,” it added.

After making the decision, MunCoVac announced on the same day that it would resume first dose vaccination at Festival Mall on July 16.
