BTS' 'Butter' CD sells 1.97 million copies in first week, 4th highest of all time

BTS’ “Butter” single album has sold 1.97 million in the first week of release, according to Korea’s Hanteo Chart.
The “Butter” CD, which contains the tracks “Butter” and “Permission to Dance,” was released on July 9.
According to Hanteo Chart, “Butter” garnered a total of 1,975,364 copies sold in the first week of release from July 9 to 15. BTS’ “BE (Deluxe Edition) sold 2,274,882 copies in the first week of release.

It took first place five times on Hanteo’s daily album chart during the first week of release.
Hanteo Chart noted that BTS is the only artist to date to become a million seller on the first day of release of an album.
For the feat, Hanteo Chart will issue a Million Initial Chodong, or first week sales certificate, to BTS.
Overall, BTS’ “Butter” placed fourth on Hanteo’s all-time first week sales ranking after three of their own albums: “Map of the Soul: 7,” “BE” and “Map of the Soul: Persona.”
