PH Red Cross opens its first COVID-19 vaccination center in Mindanao
In line with its efforts to ramp up its vaccination activities, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) opened its first “Bakuna” Center in Mindanao.

The PRC confirmed this in a statement issued Thursday, July 15. “The Red Cross will be there where we are needed,” said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon.
The said “Bakuna Center” - which opened July 14 at Lanao Chung Hua School via the PRC Iligan Chapter - vaccinated 244 individuals on its first day.
“Our goal is to vaccinate as many as we can, especially now that our country now has lower vaccine hesitancy,” Gordon said.
The vaccination center, PRC said, plans to vaccinate 694 individuals of the A3 and A4 COVID-19 priority this week.
PRC explained that the Department of Health (DOH) granted accreditation to PRC Bakuna Center in Lanao Chung Hua School (COVID-19 Bakuna Center No 07990) this month.
The staff and volunteers of PRC plan to administer privately procured 1,390 doses of Sinovac Vaccines in the coming weeks.
The “Bakuna” Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. this week, from Tuesday to Thursday.

As of July 13, the PRC has vaccinated more than 28,000 individuals.
It also plans to establish more “Bakuna” Centers in Zamboanga City, Davao City, and Misamis Oriental - Cagayan de Oro in the coming weeks.
To date, PRC has established 10 “Bakuna” Centers in Metro Manila and Luzon which include the PRC PLMC Mandaluyong, PRC Pasay Chapter, PRC Port Area in Manila, PRC Kabaka Manila, PRC Letran Manila, PRC Rizal Chapter- Arcovia Mall Pasig, San Lorenzo Mall Makati, Valencia Hall Bulacan State University in Malolos, Bulacan; Tarlac Citywalk Mall, and PRC SM Olongapo Downtown.
The establishment of more vaccination centers is part of PRC’s efforts to help in the fight against coronavirus disease (COVID-19). “We want to protect every Filipino from COVID-19,” Gordon said.
