The Pasig City local government together with other government officials inaugurated on Wednesday, July 14, its COVID-19 step-down care facility for COVID-19 patients who are scheduled to be discharged.

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said that the facility will serve as a monitoring facility for recovered COVID-19 patients before they can be discharged to prevent overcrowding in the city's hospitals and COVID-19 referral centers.

"Ang proyektong ito ay naitayo sa pangunguna ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Ang step down facility ay may 18 na bed capacity at kada isang kwarto ay may CR (This project was built in partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways. The step down facility has an 18-bed capacity wherein each room has its own CR)," Sotto said.

"Ito ay matatagpuan sa Pamantasang Lungsod ng Pasig na katabi lamang ng Pasig City COVID-19 referral center, ang Pasig City Children's Hospital (The facility is located inside Pamantasang Lungsod ng Pasig City beside Pasig City COVID-19 referral center, the Pasig City Children's Hospital)," he added.
The event was attended by Mayor Vico, Congressman Roman Romulo, DPWH-NCR Assistant Regional Director Juby Cordon, and other members of the Pasig City BEAT COVID-19 Task Force and representatives from the IATF.
"It's important that we keep doing what we can to increase our healthcare system's capacity. Hopefully we won't need it, but it's better to be ready," Sotto said.
