Manila-based Chinese Catholic priest succumbs to COVID-19
A Manila-based Chinese Catholic priest has succumbed to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Citing Radio Veritas Asia, CBCP News said Fr. Lawrence Liu Hong’en died of the disease at a state-run hospital in Quezon City, on July 13. He was 45.
According to the report, Fr. Liu tested positive for the coronavirus on July 1 and had undergone medical observation.
RVA also reported that the priest has already been vaccinated against the coronavirus in June.
Born in China’s Shan’xi province, Fr. Liu studied at Xi’an seminary and was ordained priest in 2007.
The priest came to the Philippines after ordination to study at the Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia.
Fr. Liu had assisted several Chinese people who wanted to study in the Philippines and those who wanted to do pilgrimage in the country.
Fr. Liu’s family would not be able to attend his funeral in Manila due to the health restrictions.
