LOOK: PCG delivers relief supplies to fishermen during maritime patrol in Bajo de Masinloc

Personnel of BRP Capones (MRRV-4404) and BRP Sindangan (MRRV-4407) have distributed packs of rice and canned goods to at least 60 fishermen in the area to help their needs on the daily basis.

The PCG said the BRP Capones and BRP Sindangan are among the four Coast Guard ships that are currently patrolling in the area to protect and ensure the safety of the Filipino fishermen in the West Philippine Sea.

The PCG, citing the experiences of the local fishermen interviewed, said they continuously catch abundant fish off Bajo de Masinloc waters.

Meanwhile, PCG spokesperson Commodore Armand Balilo said on Wednesday, July 14, that he has not received any reports that prohibited the local fishermen from entering off Bajo de Masinloc, Zambales.

Last April 24, PCG’s ships including BRP Gabriela Silang and BRP Sindangan, have started the maritime training and patrol near Bajo De Masinloc amid the aggressive presence of Chinese vessels in the disputed areas which include the country’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
