Veteran actress Jaclyn Jose recently shared a cryptic post on social media.

On Instagram, she shared a quote that read: "I don't fear the enemy who may attack me, I fear the fake friend who will still hug me."

Then in the caption, the Kapuso star noted how behind all of the projects she did were the blood and sweat of the people on and off the camera.

In the latter part, she emphasized: "Kahit ano pagod ginagawa namin makapagbigay ng maganda programa na hindi (BASURA)."

Many believe, that Jaclyn's statement is related to Director Andoy Ranay's controversial answer during a recent press conference.

In there, Kapamilya reporter MJ Felipe asked the director and the cast during a virtual media conference of “My Sunset Girl” their thoughts a year after the shutdown of ABS-CBN.

"Sa loob ng isang taon na yun, hindi tumigil ang ABS-CBN in producing quality programs for the Filipino audiences worldwide," said MJ.

Anyway, Direk Andoy vividly recalled how a year ago, it was one of the "most difficult time working" because then they were finishing "Love Thy Woman."

“We’re finishing that and we were the first ones to go back to work. Unfortunately, we were in ABS(-CBN) that time. It was the most difficult time and it was the most painful time because you know, you’re working for that company you love, you’re working for the people that you love, you’re working for your family and then done," he related.

“And looking at it, I know it’s not going to be easy for every one especially ‘yung mga katrabaho namin na hindi na namin makikita ulit or sa ibang kumpanya na nagtatrabaho pero since maliit naman ‘yung industriya natin nakikita mo pa rin sila pero hindi na sila Kapamilya.”

Recall that among seasoned ABS-CBN stars who jumped networks include the likes of Billy Crawford, Maja Salvador, Richard Yap, Beauty Gonzalez, Pokwang, and Bea Alonzo.

Andoy then pointed out that the reason why he stayed and continue serving with ABS-CBN is that he believes the content that the network is producing even if they don't have a franchise is still "world-class" in terms of quality.

“’Yun naman, so aanhin mo ang franchise kung basura naman yung trabaho - wow! Grabe," he added in jest.

"I mean di ba? Parang mas masarap na lang magtrabaho kahit bawas yung suweldo, kahit hindi laging may trabaho pero alam mo na ‘yung quality ng trabaho ‘yung maibibigay mo sa audience mo ay in the service of the Filipino, we have responsibility to our audience. Kaya iyon ang ibibigay natin, hanggang dulo magkasama tayo."

Note that Andoy's statement immediately went viral.
