DSWD fully supports cash aid grant under Bayanihan 3
Fearing that the coronavirus disease (COVID-19 ) pandemic might escalate, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Wednesday, July 14, that implementation of social protection measures, such as the grant of cash subsidies to vulnerable sectors should be continued.

“Based on the projection of the DOH (Department of Health) as well as NEDA (National Economic Development Authority), the problem of pandemic will escalate until 2022 kailangan talaga mayroon tayong pambigay (we should grant aid)...depending on the budget, depending on the amount,” he said during a pre-State of the Nation (SONA) virtual press briefing on Wednesday, July 14.
The DSWD chief expressed the agency’s full support to the proposed P401-billion Bayanihan 3, which calls for the distribution of an initial P2,000 to all 108 million Filipinos and an additional P10,000 to those who were displaced and suffered financial distress due COVID-19 pandemic.
“Ang gagawin ng DSWD dyan eh i-implement based on the provisions stated (The DSWD will implement the provisions stated), whatever law it will be whether it will be Bayanihan 3.”
Bautista had assured that even after the COVID-19 pandemic, the country’s vulnerable sectors can expect the government’s continued implementation of its social protection services, such as the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).
