
The country recorded 5,221 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases, raising the nationwide tally to 1,490,665 the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Thursday, July 15.
Of the total, 45,495 are active cases or still undergoing treatment.
The DOH said 91.4 percent were experiencing mild symptoms, 2.1 percent were asymptomatic, 1.7 percent were critical, 2.8 percent were in severe condition, and 1.96 percent were experiencing moderate symptoms.
Meanwhile, the death toll increased to 26,314 after 82 more patients died due to the said respiratory illness.
The recovery count also jumped to 1,418,856 with 4,147 more survivors confirmed.
"Thirteen duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 10 are recoveries," the DOH noted.
"Moreover, 52 cases previously tagged as recoveries have been validated to be active cases and 46 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it added.
The DOH advised the public to remain vigilant and still follow the minimum health standards. The local government units (LGUs), meanwhile, were urged to further intensify the implementation of the prevent, detect, isolate, treat, and reintegrate (PDITR) strategy.
