Robredo staffers get COVID-19 jabs at OVP

Vice President Leni Robredo had nothing but good words for the Quezon City government for the vaccination of 165 staff members at the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

In a Facebook post, Robredo shared photos of OVP staff receiving their second dose of coronavirus vaccines at the Quezon City Reception House, where they hold office.

“Conducting office-based vaccinations is a big help. Our staff do not have to line up in vaccination centers anymore; hence, the risk of virus transmission is lessened,” she said.

“People are also less afraid and hesitant because they are with colleagues,” Robredo added.

The OVP personnel got their first dose on June 15 as part of the A4 priority group or essential workers for COVID-19 vaccines.

Robredo, however, did not say what brand of vaccines was administered to them.

Previously, the vice president was inoculated with AztraZeneca’s vaccine along with other employees from her office who have comorbidity. Robredo, 56, has hypertension.

Robredo recommended the office-based vaccination of economic frontliners for faster pace of COVID-19 jabs administration and to protect them from the virus.

The lady official said that private companies with available venue and medical team can sign up at the QC Protektodo website or email [email protected] to request for office-based vaccinations.

“We provided for our own team of doctors and nurses but a team from QC Hall was there the entire time to supervise,” she said.
