Prelate asks voters to be more discerning in the May 2022 polls
A Catholic prelate has asked voters to be more discerning in the May 2022 polls.

Bishop Broderick Pabillo, the newly appointed vicar apostolic of Taytay in Palawan, particularly asked voters not to go for candidates who belong to political dynasties as this do not promote good governance.
"What we can do as voters is be discerning. When we know that the candidates are relatives, son, daughter, spouse of the incumbent, let us not vote for them," he told Radio Veritas, Tuesday, July 13.
"Political dynasties do not promote good governance," Pabillo added.
The head of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines Episcopal Commission on the Laity said having political dynasties takes away accountability from the current leadership.
"How can politicians be held accountable when their successors are related to them?" said Pabillo.
"It is important to have accountability so that there will be no abuse of authority," he added.
Pabillo said with political dynasties there will be no changes.
"The ideas in running the government is the same, does not expand, it has no changes bacause those sitting in office belong to only one family," he said.
"Also, they protect the same interest together with the same cronies. This cannot result to changes," added Pabillo.
