PH Red Cross vaccinates over 28K individuals vs COVID-19

As it continues to ramp up its vaccination efforts, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) on Wednesday, July 14, said that it has vaccinated over 28,000 people against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

“The best protection against COVID-19 is to get vaccinated,” PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon said.

“If you don’t get vaccinated you may infect the people around you whereas if you get vaccinated, you are not only taking good care of yourself but you are protecting your family, friends, and your community as well,” he added.

As of July 13, data from PRC showed that it has vaccinated more than 28,000 individuals nationwide - prioritizing those from the A1 to A5 COVID-19 priority groups.

Record breaking

Meanwhile, PRC announced that its “Bakuna” Center in Mandaluyong has reached another breakthrough after vaccinating 623 individuals on July 13.

PRC Health Services Manager Mark Abrigo said that 553 clients were vaccinated with Sinovac, 52 were inoculated with Moderna, and 18 individuals were given their first dose of Pfizer-BioTech.

The staff and volunteers of PRC will continue to vaccinate at PLMC “Bakuna” Center from Mondays to Saturdays (9 a.m. to 4 p.m). The vaccination site can accommodate about 30 individuals per hour with the implementation of social distancing.

Likewise, PRC said that it will continue to ramp up its vaccination efforts by expanding its “Bakuna” Centers nationwide.

Currently, the PRC has vaccination centers in PRC PLMC Mandaluyong, PRC Pasay Chapter, PRC Port Area, PRC Kabaka Area, PRC Letran Manila, PRC Rizal Chapter- Arcovia Mall Pasig, PRC Rizal Chapter- San Lorenzo Mall Makati, PRC Bulacan- Bulacan State University Valencia Hall, PRC Olongapo- SM Olongapo Downtown, and PRC Tarlac- Tarlac Citywalk Mall.
