'Other factors', not just poll survey wins or Pres. Duterte's counsel, being considered by Sara for 2022 decision
Neither poll surveys nor President Rodrigo Duterte’s counsel will be enough as factors that would convince Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte to join the 2022 presidential race o stay out of it.

Hugpong ng Pagbabago secretary general and former Davao del Norte Governor Anthony del Rosario said not even the HNP which she helped establish can be considered as a strong factor that would push the city mayor to run for president.
“Having a high rating (in poll surveys) is definitely a boost for any candidate. At the end of the day, she will make a decision based on other factors,” said Del Rosario in a virtual press conference on Wednesday, July 14.
Asked if Mayor Duterte will heed her father’s advice not to run for president, Del Rosario said the presidential daughter has “time and time again” demonstrated her independence when making such decisions.
“I believe the mayor accepts the wisdom and suggestion coming from her father but at the end of the day she will make the decision on her own,” stressed Del Rosario, who is also acts as the HNP spokesman.
He admitted that HNP colleagues are very supportive of a presidential candidacy for the mayor.
“But HNP will never decide for Mayor Sara. It is only Mayor Sara who will decide whether or not she will run,” stressed Del Rosario.
The HNP official added: “We are encouraging her, we will support her if she decides to run. As a matter of fact we will also supporter her even if she runs for mayor.” But while the popular city mayor has remained secretive of her plans for 2022, her actions appeared to telegraph her intention for the next national and local elections.
Fresh from a trip to Cebu where she conferred with Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, the lady mayor is currently in Zamboanga City to visit Mayor Maria Isabel “Beng” Climaco.
Del Rosario disclosed that aside from discussing issues on the creation of the Davao International Airport Authority, Duterte also sought Garcia’s advice on how to effectively hold public consultations.
Mayor Duterte has led a recently-released poll survey result for possible presidential contenders. She is the preferred choice of 28 percent of the respondents.
Next to her are Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, 14 percent; former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., 13; Senator Grace Poe, 10 percent and Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao, 8 percent.
For vice president, outgoing President Duterte led the pack of probables with 18 percent. Moreno also received 14 percent then followed by Senate President Vicente Sotto III and Marcos. Pacquiao is No. 5 with nine percent.
