Isolated rain showers, thunderstorms to prevail over most parts of PH -- PAGASA

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may persist over the country due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and localized thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday afternoon, July 14.
ITCZ is a rain-inducing weather system containing circulations or low pressure systems.
PAGASA also advised the public to remain vigilant against flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Severe thunderstorms are often associated with bursts of heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder, and gusty winds that usually last up to two hours.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said the low pressure area (LPA) off the coast of Samar has already dissipated.
However, another LPA has formed outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) or at 1,655 kilometers east of Central Luzon around 3 p.m., weather specialist Ariel Rojas said.
He said the weather disturbance will likely enter the country's area of responsibility but may only develop into a tropical depression after its exit from PAR.
