Filipina shot by boyfriend in North Dakota

A man in North Dakota, United States was arrested for fatally shooting his Filipina girlfriend on Sunday, July 11.

The 41-year-old suspect, Eric Venn, has been arrested and is now being held in Ward County Jail for killing his girlfriend, Arnalyn Repalam.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but later died.

According to the Minot Police Department, Venn was spotted in a vehicle and was attempting to flee. He was later arrested in northeast Minot.

Venn was charged with AA-felony murder, tampering with physical evidence, and fleeing.

Police, meanwhile, has not yet determined the motive of the shooting..

In a report from GMA's Unang Balita, the couple had reportedly fought and Repalam asked to break up with her boyfriend before the incident.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help in retrieving the remains of Repalam, send them back to the Philippines, and to help her eight-year-old son.
