A father who reportedly raped his two minor daughters was killed in a shootout with police in Marilao, Bulacan on Tuesday night.
In a report sent to Bulacan Provincial Police chief Col. Lawrence Cajipe, the suspect, who was a construction worker, was shot dead when police were about to arrest him inside his house in Barangay Sta. Rosa 1 around 7:30 p.m.
The incident happened after the suspect's eldest daughter sought police assistance when her two female minor siblings, aged eight and three, complained about being sexually assaulted by their father on Monday.
The eldest daughter even once caught her father doing the crime, according to police.
Police said that during the operation, the suspect drew his gun and fired at them, prompting authorities to retaliate.
Recovered from the crime scene were one .38-caliber Armscor 200 with Serial No. 43668 loaded with two cartridges, two fire cartridge cases, and one caliber 9mm fired cartridge case, police said.
