DSWD provides P22.6-B aid to 5.6 million individuals in crisis situations
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has so far assisted 5.6 million individuals in crisis situations, disbursing financial aid worth about P22.6 billion.

This was reported by DSWD Secretary Rolando Joselito D. Bautista during the pre-State of the Nation (SONA) forum themed “Pamana ng Pagbabago 2021” on Wednesday, July 14.
“Sa pamamagitan naman ng Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation o AICS ng DSWD, nakapagbigay ng tulong pinansyal, probisyon ng pagkain at iba pang pangunahing pangangailangan na nagkakahalaga ng P22.6 bilyon para sa humigit 5.6 milyon nating mga kababayan na humaharap sa iba’t ibang krisis, sakuna or matinding kahirapan (Through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation or AICS of the DSWD, financial aid, provision of food and other basic needs worth P22.6 billion have been provided to over 5.6 million countrymen who were facing different crisis, disasters or severe poverty),” he said.
The program provides medical, educational, burial, transportation, food and non-food assistance in the form of outright cash to support the recovery of individuals and families suffering from unexpected life event or crisis such as illness or death of a family member, natural and human-induced emergencies, and other critical incidents.
The DSWD said most of the assistance sought after by clients, to date, were cash and food assistance, and psychosocial help.
Various Crisis Intervention Units (CIUs) at the DSWD Central Office, Field Offices, and Social Welfare Development (SWAD) satellite offices located in the provinces are facilitating the delivery of the aid.
