Count on it! DOTr vows to back ARTA's anti-fixer campaign
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has affirmed its support for the Anti-Red Tape Authority’s (ARTA) all-out campaign against “fixers".

In his letter addressed to ARTA Secretary Jeremiah Belgica dated July 12, DOTr Undersecretary for Legal Affairs Reinier Yebra welcomed the agency’s resolve in going after fixers.
“The DOTr fully supports measures to improve the government agencies’ level of service delivery and accountability, and ultimately the prevention of graft and corruptions,” Yebra said.
The DOTr official also assured ARTA that the entire department, including all branches of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), will also participate in the campaign.
Yebra’s letter was his reply to Belgica after the latter wrote the DOTr encouraging it to coordinate with the authority’s anti-fixer drive.
This, after ARTA nabbed a total of nine fixers outside different LTO branches from May to June this year.
The ARTA chief said they can help in catching fixers within and around the premises of DOTr and its attached agencies, and in filing cases against them for violations of Republic Act (RA) No.11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.
Belgica also asked the DOTr to issue an advisory on the extent of services of Private Emmission Testing Centers (PETCs).
In his letter dated July 1, he said some enterprising individuals took advantage of PETCs and used them as an avenue to offer insurance and medical services, among others.
