3-year-old Filipino abducted, stabbed to death by own father in Canada

A three-year-old Filipino-Canadian girl was allegedly abducted and stabbed to death by her own father in Canada.

Jemimah Bundalian was found stabbed inside a car on King Edward Street at Jefferson Avenue on July 7, according to a report from CTV News.

The girl was brought to the hospital but later died from her stab wounds.

The 28-year old estranged father, Frank Nausigimana, abducted his daughter from her mother at knifepoint, police reported.

Nausigimana fled away with his daughter but was later arrested. He is now in police custody and has been charged for first-degree murder.

On Monday, dozens gathered to mourn the death of Jemimah, with stuffed animals, flowers, and candles laid on the side of King Edward Street.

"It is sad to see a young girl's life taken so shortly â€“ she was so innocent and beautiful," Darryl Contois, who organized the vigil, told CTV News.

The family has set up a GoFundMe campaign and asked for support and continued prayers.

"She's such a smart girl at the young age of 3 and has accomplished so much in the little time she had with her loved ones," her aunt, Karla Chingcuangco, wrote in the page.

"She loves spending time outdoors on her scooter, biking, dancing, singing, reading, swimming, and making crafts. She is the sunshine amongst everyone she encounters."
