Poll official believes not all of the more than 7 million deactivated voters will apply for reactivation
A poll official believes that not all of the more than 7 million deactivated voters will apply for reactivation for the May 2022 National and Local Elections.

"Our expectations is that we will not get all 7 million back," Commission on Elections (Comelec) Spokesperson James Jimenez said in a press briefing Monday, July 12.
"The reason for that is because some of them moved to a different place, some moved overseas, some are no longer interested in voting," he added.
Still, Jimenez said they will continue to encourage as many of them to seek reactivation.
"We will call out to them, as we have been doing so. Perhaps, with two and a half months left, we might step up the campaign for them to reactivate," he said.
On July 10, Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon said only 600,000 of the 7.3 million voters deactivated for failure to vote twice have registered again.
