PH Red Cross now uses Sputnik for COVID-19 vaccination
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) is now using Sputnik V for its vaccination efforts after receiving 2,700 doses from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) in the PRC Port Area, Manila.

“We are very grateful for the donation of IATF,” PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon. “With their contribution, we will be able to reach even more communities without slowing down to aid the most vulnerable,” he added.
The said vaccines were used to roll out the vaccination to the A5 community around the Port Area Lab and residents of Baseco, Manila.
PRC Head of the Molecular Laboratory Dr. Paulyn Ubial said that the PRC targets to vaccinate 400 individuals within two weeks prioritizing those from the A5 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) priority group or indigent population.
As of July 2021, PRC has vaccinated Sputnik, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sinovac, and Pfizer to more than 21,000 individuals.
PRC said the Sputnik vaccination schedule is every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at the PRC Port Area, Manila.
To register, PRC said that interested individuals may contact 1158 at least two days before their preferred vaccination date.
