Las Pinas LGU suspends 2nd dose vaccination of Sinovac, Sputnik V due to limited supply

The Las Pinas City government has temporarily suspended the second dose vaccination using Sinovac and Sputnik V due to limited vaccine supply.

Dr. Juliana Gonzales of the City Health Office (CHO) announced the suspension of the second dose vaccination in a video message posted at the official Facebook page of the Las Pinas City government.

Gonzales said residents who already received their first dose of Sinovac and Suptnik V vaccines need not worry because Mayor Imelda Aguilar has ordered for the immediate resumption of the vaccination as soon as a fresh supply of vaccines arrives in the city.

She also said that the vaccination for the second dose can be delayed from 3 to 6 months according to vaccine experts from the National Vaccination Center.

Gonzales also said the city government continues to administer the second dose of other brands of vaccines such as AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

The city government’s “Ligtas na Las Pinero, Lahat Bakunado” vaccination program has so far vaccinated a total of 268,953 residents. She said that out of this number, 203,953 received their first dose, while 64,099 were given their second dose.
