Good news, fur parents! Pets now allowed at MRT-3

The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) management said commuters can now board the train with their beloved pets.

In a Facebook post, the MRT-3 management announced that it has permitted passengers to bring their pets inside the train subject to policies set by the train line.

According to management, the fur babies must be placed inside pet carriers measuring two feet by two feet prior to boarding the coaches.

"Maimai," a dog, recently went viral on social media after her owner, Donna Ranario, posted photos of the pet riding the MRT-3 comfortably while inside a pet carrier.

Ranario said in her Facebook post that Maimai always accompanies her to work and has been well-behaved whenever they ride the train.

Aside from using a carrier, Ranario added that Maimai also wears a diaper to avoid causing inconvenience to other passengers.

Meanwhile, the MRT-3 management reminded commuters to continue observing minimum health and safety protocols, as well as the so-called "seven commandments" of public transport while inside the train.

These are the wearing of face masks and face shields, no talking and making phone calls, no eating, keeping public utility vehicles (PUVs) well-ventilated, frequent disinfection, no symptomatic passengers, and observing the physical distancing rule.
