DOH reports less than 4,000 new COVID-19 cases

The country recorded less than 4,000 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases on Tuesday, July 13.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 3,604 new cases COVID-19, bringing the total tally of infections to 1,481,660. The last time that the country recorded 3,000 cases was on June 22 with 3,666 new cases then.

Based on the latest case bulletin, the new infections raised the number of active cases in the country to 46,934 or 3.2 percent of the overall tally of cases.

Of the active cases 89.6 percent are mild, 4.3 percent are asymptomatic, 2.6 percent are severe, 1.6 percent are in critical condition, while 1.83 percent have moderate symptoms.

The total number of recoveries also increased to 1,408,634 after 5,840 more people survived from the illness.

However, the death toll climbed to 26,092 with 77 new fatalities.

DOH Epidemiology Bureau Director Dr. Alethea De Guzman noted that the Philippines' COVID-19 risk classification remains at “low-risk.”

Despite this, the DOH reminded the public to still follow the minimum public health standards and get vaccinated against COVID-19 if they are already eligible.
