Pasay LGU deploys 207,542 vaccines; first dose vaccination still suspended

The Pasay City government has deployed a total of 207,542 vaccines against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) despite the suspension of vaccination for the first dose last week due to vaccine supply shortage.

The city’s Public Information Office (PIO), headed by Jun Burgos, posted on the city government's Facebook page, that the city will continue to administer second dose vaccines to pre-listed residents.

A total of 1,401 residents were administered their second dose on July 11, and 4,785 on July 10.

The PIO said that A2 (senior citizens) and A3 (adult with comorbidities) who were given their first dose of AstraZeneca in May will have their second dose administered on July 22-31 and August 2.

The city government told residents who were vaccinated with their first dose of AstraZeneca to visit the PIO Facebook page to find out their schedule for the second dose.

The city government has scheduled the vaccination of residents who received their first dose of Sinovac and Pfizer vaccines on July 12.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano assured residents that the vaccination for the first dose will resume as soon as the city receives more vaccines from the national government.

Rubiano said the city government can administer 7,500 COVID-19 jabs a day depending on the availability of supply.

She said the city government is confident that it can achieve herd immunity by the end of September or first week of October this year.
