Over 290,000 vaccines deployed in Mandaluyong City; LGU aims to inoculate all residents by September

The Mandaluyong City government announced on Monday that it has already administered over 290,000 vaccines against COVID-19 to its residents as of July 10, Saturday.

The City Health Office (CHO) reported that 299,673 vaccines have been administered to its residents -- 208,412 have received their first dose while 91,261 have completed their second dose.

The city government reminded its constituents who have received their first dose to return for their second dose to complete their protection against the virus.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos said that the city eyes to inoculate all its residents by September of this year. She said that that the city has vaccinated 54 percent of its total population.

Abalos said that there are now 404,948 registrants in the city's COVID-19 vaccination program MandaVax..

As of July 11, the CHO recorded 165 active COVID-19 cases, 16,356 recoveries, and 424 deaths.

On Friday, the local government formally launched its safety seal campaign for households and establishments whose residents and employees have been already vaccinated.

“As long as all members of the family eligible to be vaccinated have received at least their first dose, we’ll put the safety seal stickers in front of their house or store. It’s also our way to encourage individuals who haven’t gotten the vaccine to register at our MandaVax portal and get vaccinated,” Abalos said.

The LGU also vaccinated bedridden senior citizens so they can also be protected against the virus.
