Marikina City Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro on Monday (July 12) disclosed that the Metro Manila Council (MMC) has identified five areas where children five years old and above are allowed to go.

Earlier, the IATF has announced that children five years old and above are allowed to go outside their homes in areas under GCQ and MGCQ.
Teodoro said he and other mayors of the metropolis identified parks, playgrounds, beaches, hiking trailing areas, and al-fresco dining.
“We are allowing children aged five years old and above to go to limited areas or open spaces,” he said during a radio interview.
He noted that children have been staying indoors for a long time that’s why the MMC, taking into consideration the medical welfare of children, allowed children aged five years old and above to limited areas.
The mayor said a uniform protocol will be released by the MMC in order for minimum health standards to be strictly imposed.
“The mayors have two conditions for children five years old and above to be allowed outside their homes. First, they should be accompanied by a parent or an adult. Second is that minimum health standards must be followed such as the wearing face masks, and social distancing,” Teodoro added.
In addition, he said MMC mayors want to identify parks and playgrounds, and their capacity.
He said that at least 50 percent capacity will be allowed in these open spaces.
