Dizon lauds San Juan for vaccinating over 70% of target population
National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 Deputy Chief Implementer Vince Dizon on Monday, July 12, lauded San Juan after administering first-dose shots to 96,610 or around 78 percent of its population.

The national government targets to inoculate 70 percent of the country's population in 2021 to reach herd immunity.
"San Juan is the first local government unit in the Philippines to administer first-dose vaccine to its 70 percent of its target population. However, the numbers are still conservative, because there are still minors who can't be vaccinated yet," Dizon said in Filipino.
"Even if they would say that San Juan is a small city, but to vaccinate 96,610 of the San Juan constituents in only four months is no joke. Even though our supply is limited, this is a huge achievement," he added.
The testing czar also encouraged the public to still continue wearing face mask, washing hands, and observing physical distancing.
"If we are not fully vaccinated, there's still danger and risk that we will be infected with COVID-19."
As of July 11, at least 29,313 San Juan residents have received their second dose.
