Angel Locsin on being loyal to ABS-CBN: 'You won't leave them while they are suffering'

More than one year after the ABS-CBN shutdown, Angel Locsin affirmed her loyalty to the broadcast network saying it is the right thing to do.

"Stay ako dito kasi iyon ang tingin ko na tama. Nandito lang ako kasi hindi ko kayang iwan 'yong mga kaibigan o kapamilya. Hindi mo naman sila iiwan habang naghihirap 'di ba?" (I'm staying here because that's what I think is right. I'm just here because I can't leave my friends or family. You won't leave them while they are suffering, right), said Angel during an interview on July 10.

"Habang may pinagdadaanan, hindi mo 'yan iiwan kapag mahalaga sa’yo. Habang may pinagdadaanan 'yong ABS-CBN, nandito lang ako. (When you are going through something, you won't leave it when it's important to you. While ABS-CBN is going through something, I am just here).

"It doesn't mean na nakikita mo akong araw-araw pero I am a Kapamilya pa 'rin. Nandito lang ako. Okay pa naman ako. Hindi ako mayaman na mayaman. Wala po akong ganoon. (It doesn't mean that you see me everyday, but I am a Kapamilya still. I'm just here. I am still okay. I am not rich or rich. I don't have that)

"Siguro ‘yong years na pinagkatiwalaan ako ng tao kahit paano may ipon 'din naman. May kaunting investment. Kaya pa naman mag-survive ng pamilya ko doon. (Maybe it's the years that people trusted me, at least I have savings. There is a little investment. My family can still survive there)

"Sa ngayon, pwede naman tayong mag-YouTube, may mga endorsement. Siyempre ikakasal din ako so asikasuhin ko muna 'yon 'di ba? May mga bagay muna na siguro na kailangan muna pagtuunan ng pansin pero nandito lang ako. Nandito lang ako," said Angel. (For now, we can do YouTube, with endorsements. Of course I'm going to get married so I'll take care of it first right? There are things that you need to pay attention to, but I'm just here. I'm just here)

The Kapamilya star has just wrapped up her television program "Iba Yan," a show that showcases ordinary people with extraordinary stories with an aim to highlight the strength of the Filipino spirit.
