About 50 families were rendered homeless when a fire broke out in a crowded neighborhood in Paranaque City Wednesday afternoon.

Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the victims were immediately brought at Fourth Estate Elementary School BF Extension for temporary shelter where the city government will ensure that standard health protocols will still be followed.
He also ordered to account the number of victims including the damage of fire and give assistance.
According to Olivarez, the fire that broke out in a neighborhood along Ipil site, BF Homes, Paranaque City and was reported at about 1:45 p.m. It reached fourth alarm before it was placed under control.
One of the residents reportedly suffered head injury while trying to save some belongings and was immediately brought to the hospital for treatment.
The Paranaque City Bureau of Fire Protection reported that the fire started in one of the houses conducting welding works in the area.
The fire immediately spread at nearby houses mostly made of light materials. The cost of damage to property was placed at around P200,000.
