Nearly P205M allocated for purchase of ballot paper, marking pens for May 2022 polls

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has allocated nearly P205 million for the procurement of ballot paper and marking pens to be used in the May 2022 polls.

"The Comelec, through the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for 2021, intends to apply the sum of P204,921,062.37 being the Approved Budget for the Contract (ABC) to payment under the contract for the Supply and Delivery of Ballot Paper and Marking Pens for use in the 2022 National and Local Elections - 2nd Bidding," the Comelec- Special Bids and Awards Committee (SBAC) said in its Invitation to Bid.

The Comelec said this is for the supply and delivery of 2,680 rolls of ballot paper and 1,946,900 pieces of marking pens.

Bids received in excess of the ABC shall be automatically rejected at Bid Opening, the poll body said.

Those interested bidders, the Comelec said, may acquire a complete set of bidding documents at the SBAC Secretariat Office at the Comelec Annex Building in Intramuros, Manila, from Mondays to Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The poll body said a Pre-Bid Conference will be held on July 14 at 10 a.m. via Microsoft Teams, and shall be open to all prospective bidders.

The deadline for the submission of bids is on July 26 at 8 a.m. with the bid documents to be sent and shared electronically to the SBAC Secretariat at [email protected].

The opening of bids, on the other hand, is on July 26 at 10 a.m., which will be done virtually by the Comelec via Microsoft Teams.
