LPA enters PAR, fair weather seen in most of PH

A low pressure area (LPA) has entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Thursday, July 1, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The state weather bureau said the weather disturbance was located at around 1,365 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon as of 3 a.m.

“Base sa ating analysis, mababa yung chance na ito ay maging isang bagyo o tropical depression for the next 24 hours (Based on our analysis, there is a slim chance that it will develop into a tropical cyclone or tropical depression for the next 24 hours),” said weather specialist Benison Estareja.

Estareja said they are looking at one of the possible scenario wherein the LPA may dissipate while inside the PAR within the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon or “habagat” continues to affect the extreme portion of Northern Luzon.

Estareja said that fair weather condition is expected in most of Luzon, including Metro Manila, with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms in the afternoon onwards.

Likewise, fair weather condition or partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail over the Visayas with a chance of isolated rains in the afternoon and evening particularly in Eastern and Central Visayas.

On the other hand, Estareja said there is a high chance of rains starting in the afternoon in most parts of Mindanao.
