The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has widened the coverage of areas with higher operating capacities of business establishments in the National Capital Region (NCR), including the provinces of Bulacan and Rizal, but retained the ban on social activities in Laguna and Cavite.
Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon M. Lopez issued today DTI Advisory 21-09: Increase in On-Site Operational Capacity of Certain Business Establishments & Activities Under GCQ with Heightened Restrictions said the higher operating capacity is pursuant to the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution No. 124 Series of 2021, in consideration of the rise and fall in the number of COVID-19 cases, overall healthcare utilization rate, and capability t cope with projected increases of cases.
As of today, July 1, 2021, meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE) events in eligible venue establishments accredited by the Department of Tourism and DTI are now allowed 40 percent operating capacity while social events are allowed at 10 percent for NCR, Bulacan and Rizal.
Likewise, indoor tourist attractions, historical sites, and museums as defined by the DOT are allowed to operate at 40 percent capacity in the said areas.
However, these activities are still banned in Laguna and Cavite.
Meantime, operating capacities for restaurants, commissaries, and eateries are maintained at 40 percent for indoor dine-in services for NCR, Bulacan and Rizal and 20 percent for Laguna and Cavite. These establishments in these areas are also allowed to maintain operating all fresco or outdoor dine-in services at 50 percent capacity.
Personal care services such as beauty salon, parlors, barbershops and nail spas are allowed to observe 50 percent operating capacity for NCR, Bulacan and Rizal and 30 percent for Laguna and Cavite-based establishments.
Outdoor tourist attractions are also allowed at 50 percent operating capacity in NCR, Bulacan, and Rizal and 30 percent for Laguna and Cavite.
Lopez further said that business establishments awarded with Safety Seal Certifications are allowed to operate at an additional 10 percentage points operating capacity regardless of community quarantine classification.
With higher operating capacity, Lopez also stressed strict compliance with minimum public health and safety standards and protocols.
