ABS-CBN to Bea Alonzo on GMA transfer: 'Good luck!'

After months of speculation, Bea Alonzo is now a Kapuso as she celebrates her 20th anniversary in show business this year.
Bea, 33, officially signed a contract with GMA Network at Edsa Shangri-la Manila in Mandaluyong City on Thursday, July 1.
Earlier, GMA-7 teased fans about a well-loved popular actress who will join the network.
In her first Zoom press conference for Kapuso Network, Bea said that ABS-CBN bosses were supportive of her transfer to rival network GMA-7.
Bea said that her Kapamilya bosses wished her good luck in her network jump.
"When the deal was 99 percent final, it was the first time I told them about it. The next day I called my former boss, Sir Carlo (Katigbak). It was an emotional call. Hindi mo maiaalis (na maging emotional). Twenty years of my life I was there. They wished me good luck. I was happy I had their blessings," said Bea.

The new Kapuso star said it never occurred to her that she would transfer to a rival network.
"It never really occurred in me, and now I am entering a new chapter, and it feels so good, it feels right. When you gave that in your heart, ang sarap ng pakiramdam. It took a lot of time (before I decided). This past year has been challenging for all of us. It gave me time to reflect and think about my life - what I wanted to do and what else do I wanted to do," Bea said.
Bea also described the network jump as a big blessing.
While it is expected that she would appear in teleseryes and movies, Bea said that she would like to explore other opportunities in the network.

"Let's say a talk show or a sitcom? Marami pa akong hindi naipapakita," she added. "I will always go back to my core which is drama. I'll be open to challenges and do other things this time."
Aside from Alden Richards, Bea said that she is looking forward to work with actors Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, and Dennis Trillo. "I want to work with them. Derek Ramsay, Jennyln Mercado, Lovi Poe, Sanya Lopez, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Ruru Madrid. Basically all of them."

Bea said that she is hopeful her fans would embrace her decision, continue to support her, and grow with her.
In March, it was announced that Alden and Bea would team-up in the Philippine adaptation of the popular Korean drama "A Moment to Remember."

Bea said that she and Alden have attended workshops for the upcoming movie. "Hopefully, we will start shooting in September."
In one of the most anticipated moves in Philippine showbiz, Bea refused to reveal details of her first project for the network.
Bea said that she would leave for the US in coming days "to recharge" before she buckles down on GMA.
