'Red hat' ceremony for Cardinal Advincula set on June 18
The “red hat" ceremony for Cardinal Jose Advincula will now be held on June 18.

Advincula, the Archbishop-elect of Manila, revealed the date in an interview with Radio Veritas, Wednesday, June 9.
The ceremony for the bestowal of Advincula’s insignia was postponed twice in the past.
It was originally scheduled for May 28 but was postponed due to the availability of Papal Nuncio Archbishop John Brown, who will bestow the red hat and ring to Advincula which are the symbols of his membership in the College of Cardinals.
It was then moved to June 8 but was later cancelled amid the prevailing health crisis.
"I hope the bestowal of the insignia will already push through," said Advincula.
The ceremony will take place at the Immaculate Conception Metropolitan Cathedral in Roxas City at 3:30 p.m.
Advincula was among the 13 new additions to the College of Cardinals during a consistory at the Vatican in November 2020. But he was not able to physically attend the event due to travel restrictions in the country.
He will be formally installed as the 33rd Archbishop of Manila on June 24.
