Drug peddler yields P195K shabu in Las Piñas sting

Las Piñas City police seized some P195,000 worth of shabu from an alleged drug peddler during a buy-bust operation on Wednesday.

Police identified the suspect as Darius Vergara, a resident of Opal St., Saint Mary Homes, Barangay Almanza Uno, Las Pinas City. He is now detained at Las Pinas Police custodial facility.

Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, Southern Police District (SPD) director, said the suspect was arrested by members of the Las Pinas Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) at about 12:00 noon.

Macaraeg said the SDEU operatives confiscated from Vergara about 28.6 grams of shabu placed in four heat-sealed transparent sachets.

The confiscated shabu was brought to the SPD Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis.

The SPD chief commended the SDEU operatives for the arrest of Vergara.
