2 women arrested in P1.3-M shabu buy-bust at Alabang mall

Two women were arrested by the police Tuesday night in a P1.3 million drug buy-bust operation at a popular fast food chain in a mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director, Police Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the arrested suspects as Roxane Alcaide, 28, and Joana Leoncio, 18, both residents of Brgy. San Vicente, San Pedro, Laguna.

Operatives from the SPD and Muntinlupa City Police Station conducted the buy-bust operation at the Jollibee branch at Starmall Alabang that resulted in the arrest of the two suspects.

Seized from the suspects were two plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) estimated to be worth P1.3 million, two cell phones and three bags.

The police will file cases against the suspects for violation of Section 5 (selling), Section 11 (possession) and Section 26 (conspiracy) under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“I hope this would be another lesson to everyone not to get involved in illegal drugs activities because the PNP is unrelenting in pursuing any person or group involved in illegal drugs,” said Macaraeg as he commended the operatives for the buy-bust operation.
