The NLEX Road Warriors gave their go signal for Jericho Cruz to suit up for Guam in its two FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers matches against Hong Kong in Amman, Jordan.

NLEX on its website said that management granted Guam’s request for Cruz to suit up for the games slated Sunday, June 13 and Tuesday, June 15 through the help of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.

He is slated to fly back to Manila on June 16 where he’ll undergo a mandatory quarantine before joining NLEX’s preparation for the PBA season.

Cruz was earlier allowed by the Road Warriors to join Guam’s training camp in the United States.

Guam and Hong Kong were supposed to play in Clark, Pampanga which would have given Cruz an advantage.

The seven-year PBA veteran played for NLEX during last season’s Philippine Cup bubble at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.

Instead, FIBA decided to shift the games to the Jordanian capital along with teams in Groups D, E and F.

Cruz made his Guam debut in Feb. 2020, posting four points, four rebounds and five assists in a 113-94 home loss to New Zealand.
