Blacklist International staves off pesky Impunity, coasts to MSC upper bracket

Blacklist International made it two Filipino teams in the upper bracket of the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2021 after repulsing the hard-fighting Impunity KH of Cambodia on Tuesday night, June 8.

The reigning MPL Philippines champion banked on Danerie "James" Wise Del Rosario's hard-striking Bruno who was enabled by Jonmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna's Estes and Jayson "ESON" Gerardo's Rafaela to post an 18-7 victory in just 13 minutes in Game 1.

Armed with Berserker's Fury, Endless Battle and two Legion Swords, Wise scored a maniac by taking down four heroes with just three strikes at the most before melting down the Lord and eventually Impunity's Base.

The Cambodians actually looked poised to stun the Filipinos after wiping them out at their purple buff area but Wise's Bruno was too much to handle as he dished out over 57K hero damage for eight kills and five assists.

Impunity once again put up a good fight in Game 2 behind its feeding Diggie strategy and Oppi's Hayabusa, but Blacklist always found a way to retaliate through the magic nukes from OhMyV33nus' Yve and Kiel "OHEB" Soriano's Lunox.

Wise's Yi Sun-Shin and Blacklist sneaked into the pit to slay the Luminous Lord with Oppi pushing on the other side of the map then picked off three Impunity heroes including the Hayabusa to seal the 35-16 win in 16 minutes.

With its sweet sweep in Group C, Blacklist joined Execration in the upper bracket of the MSC playoffs which will run from June 11 to 13.

The Tier One Entertainment-backed crew of coach Kristoffer "BON CHAN" Ricaplaza will take on MPL Malaysia winner RSG MY in the winner's bracket of the regional tourney that stakes a prize pool of $150,000 (over P7 million).

Execration, which also swept its matches in Group D capped by a 2-0 beating of inaugural MPL Singapore champ EVOS SG, will tangle with MPL Indonesia king EVOS Legends in the other upper bracket pairing.
