Your OOTD post can help you win local fashion pieces. Here's how

These days, dressing comes with a prize. Literally!

Filipino fashion is here and it is not reigning. Even after months in pandemic, our local style has endured and continues to innovate with the help of modern fashion designers. These creatives have resuscitated the terno, reimagined indigenous tapestries, and made the barong more casual, making them more accessible and be easily infused in the Filipino closet.

This June, wear your culture and identity in our sleeves as we commemorate our country's freedom. Guess what? You might win special prizes, too.

Prepare to strike a pose as the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) join forces with Fashion Accessories Makers of the Philippines (FAMPH) in launching the #WearFilipino online campaign. This weekly virtual competition looks for the best Outfit of the Day (OOTD) post that spotlights and promotes Filipino fashion. It is like "America's Next Top Model" only filled with Filipino fabulosity.

All you need to do is to dress yourself with Filipino-made clothing and accessories, tag #FAMPh and #NCCA on the post using these hashtags #WearFilipino, #BeLoyalToLocal, #DamaKoLahiKo and indicate the region you are from with #Luzon, #Visayas, and #Mindanao. Don't forget to write a caption about your look as well.

It can be a streetwear-inspired terno look, a vibrant jacket made of indigenous textile, or pieces honoring the Filipino flag. The possibilities are endless.

Six winners (two from each island cluster) will be announced each week on the social media pages of FAMPh and NCCA. It starts this Independence Day, June 12, 2021.
