Walk-in COVID-19 vaccination for A4 group allowed in Navotas

The local government of Navotas City has allowed walk-in COVID-19 vaccination for members of the A-4 category.

Mayor Toby Tiangco said those who will get their jab by walk-in appointment no longer have to register online.

“Pwede po kayo mag-walk-in sa ating mga walk-in sites. Kaya lang doon lang kayo pwede mag-walk-in, first come first serve po ‘yan (Walk-ins are allowed at our walk-in sites only. And it's on a first come, first serve basis),” he said in a DZRH interview.

On Monday alone, the day when essential workers were finally given the green light to get inoculated, around 400 people got the jab at the Navotas Fish Port Complex, the local government said.

Half of them were scheduled for vaccination while the remaining just walked in, it added.

“They do not just work to provide for their families, they also contribute in rebuilding our economy,” Tiangco said in a statement, adding “the vaccine will also minimize the chances of these workers bringing the virus to their loved ones.”

During the celebration of the Labor Day on May 1, 50 residents tagged as essential workers were given their first shot of CoronaVac. Four of them have already received their second dose.

“We understand that vaccines are limited. We hope to get more vaccines so we could continue providing protection to other members of the A4 priority group, many of whom want to be vaccinated,” Tiangco added.

As of June 5, around 42,752 residents have already been vaccinated.
