Over 15,000 BARMM health workers receive first dose of COVID-19 vaccine
DAVAO CITY - Over 15,000 healthcare workers in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) have received their first dose of vaccine against the Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
In a statement from the Bangsamoro Government, Dr. Bashary Latiph of the Ministry of Health said as of Tuesday, June 2, a total of 15,347 healthcare workers in BARMM have been vaccinated.
Dr. Latiph said the number is equivalent to 70 percent of those in the master list of 21,873 under A1 priority group. Meanwhile, only about 6,334 or 20 percent have completed their doses.
A total of 3,910 out of the 79,301 senior citizens listed in BARMM have also received their first vaccine shots, while 3,418 individuals with co-morbidities have also received their first dose of the vaccine.
The BARMM received a total of 78,800 doses of vaccines from the national government.
As of 6pm of Friday, the Bangsamoro Inter-agency Task Force on COVID-19 has recorded 72 new cases bringing to 801 the total number of active cases in BARMM. The region has so far recorded 6,922 COVID-19 cases with 5,855 recoveries and 266 deaths.
