Karen Davila on Korina Sanchez-Roxas: 'Hindi kami nagpantay'

Broadcaster Karen Davila has finally opened up about rumors that she and fellow broadcaster Korina Sanchez-Roxas are not on speaking terms.


Karen gave her reaction during an exclusive interview for the vlog of entertainment journalist-talent manager Ogie Diaz on June 7.


Portions of the interview were uploaded on the Facebook account of Kapamliya Online World.


Karen said: “Well, I think okay, recently nagkita kami ni Korina at a party kay Anton San Diego and he posted it at ang andaming natuwa dun and I think it’s because it’s the first time people saw Korina and I together." (Korina and I saw at the party of Anton San Diego and he posted it. Many people were happy about the post).

“And I would like to say it in the best way I could, Korina Sanchez was already an icon noong nagpunta ako sa ABS. (Korina Sanchez was already an icon when I joined ABS).

“Lumipat ako sa ABS-CBN noong 2001. Korina Sanchez na po siya. Sikat na sikat na po siya. In other words, kailanman ay hindi po kami nagpantay. (I joined ABS-CBN in 2001. She already made a name for herself. She's very popular. In other words, we are not on the same level).

“Hindi po ako competitor ni Korina or the next Korina. The only person that I can be is Karen. That’s all I can say." (I am not a competitor of Korina, or the next Korina).

To be fair, there were times na nagbabatian kami. But we didn’t have really the opportunity to really spend time together. (There were times that we greet each other).

“Nasayangan lang ako in ABS was I wish Korina and I met in different circumstances that I got to know her coz people tell me she’s a good friend, a loyal friend to have." (I wish I got to know her more).
