PAGASA: 'Dante' likely to exit PAR by Saturday morning or noon

Tropical depression "Dante" has passed close to the southern tip of mainland Taiwan and nearby Orchid Island on Friday evening, June 4.
As of 10 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the center of tropical depression Dante was estimated at 160 kilometers north of Itbayat, Batanes or over the coastal waters of Orchid Island, Taiwan.
It has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph. It is currently moving east-northeastward at 35 kph.
Tropical cyclone wind signal number 1 remains hoisted over Batanes in the PAGASA's 11 p.m. bulletin.
PAGASA said Batanes will continue to experience strong winds in the next six hours, however, winds will gradually weaken during the period as the tropical depression moves further away from the Philippines.
It added that there is a high likelihood that the wind signal over Batanes will be lifted by Saturday morning, June 5.
A gale warning remains in effect over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon due to rough seas triggered by tropical depression Dante.
As sea travel remains risky for small seacraft, PAGASA advised mariners without the proper experience to immediately seek safe harbor.
By 2 a.m., Saturday, PAGASA said Dante will likely be at 505 km north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes or over the coastal waters of Ishigaki Island, Okinawa, Japan.
By 2 p.m., Saturday, it said Dante will already be outside the Philippine area of responsibility or at 995 km northeast of extreme northern Luzon or over the coastal waters of Okinoerabu Island, Okinawa, Japan.
