No special treatment for Aga Muhlach, family in vaccination, Muntinlupa LGU says

The Muntinlupa City government said celebrity couple Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez and their two children did not get any special treatment when they were vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) last June 1.

Muhlach’s family received their AstraZeneca shots at the Festival Mall upper ground floor parking area vaccination site in Alabang, one of the major vaccination hubs in Muntinlupa.

Tez Navarro, Muntinlupa Public Information Office chief, said the Muhlachs, including twins Atasha and Andres, both 19 years old, followed all procedures including registering with the Muntinlupa COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) as A3, or those 18-59 years old with comorbidities.

The Muhlach family lives in Ayala Alabang Village in Muntinlupa.

“Aga Muhlach is a resident of Muntinlupa. They registered at MunCoVac three weeks ago, under A3. They presented medical certificates from a private hospital in Muntinlupa and they received a text to confirm the schedule last Monday together with all other (getting the) first doses from Barangays Alabang, Cupang and Ayala Alabang,” said Navarro.

She said that when the four arrived at the vaccination site, they all lined up and waited for their turn to be inoculated.

“When they came, they all lined up from Step 1 till Post Vaccination,” said Navarro.

She added that the family was not given special treatment.

“There are celebrities, politicians, big businessmen, influential people who live in Ayala Alabang. Other celebrities and officials were already vaccinated. Why single out the Muhlachs? The City Health Office has already coordinated with the Department of the Interior and Local Government,” she added.

The vaccination program, she said, is for everyone who registered.

“We are inclusive in Muntinlupa, rich, poor, politicians, stars etc., The vaccination program is for all who register. No special treatment to anyone.. The Festival Mall underground parking is so hot and I witnessed how the family waited for their turn,” said Navarro.
