Church-run Radio Veritas has launched a midnight healing mass program to attend to the spiritual needs of the faithful, particularly overseas Filipino workers and Filipino immigrants.

Radio Veritas president Fr. Anton Pascual said the program aims to deepen the spiritual life of the faithful in the hope of bringing God closer to all despite the pandemic.

“It is important for the faithful to feel the grace of God amid the pandemic to help dispel the feeling of fear. The holy mass is the highest form of prayer that will bring God’s blessings and infinite grace to all,” Pascual said over Radio Veritas.

“It is also our way of helping address the growing incidents of depression brought about by the difficult times,” he added.

Fr. Roy Bellen, vice president of Radio Veritas, for his part said, it is at midnight when many people can feel lonely and depressed thus the need to impart the Good News to them.

“We are aware that depression and loneliness usually affect the sufferer at night when all is still and quiet. People are so vulnerable during these hours that is why Radio Veritas thought of bringing the sacrament and the presence of God through the Holy Mass. We share not only words of wisdom from priests but more importantly, God’s presence that spells hope,” Bellen said.

The midnight healing mass is celebrated from Monday to Saturday at 12 midnight to reach Filipinos abroad on different time zones to be able to avail of a live mass. The mass is preceded by the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament while praying for the intentions of the faithful. Healing Touch anchor priests will preside over the holy masses.
