LOOK: PCG’s BRP Gabriela Silang starts maritime exercise in Panay Island


After the successful anti-piracy and anti-terrorism drills in Mindanao last week, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)’s BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) has proceeded in conducting maritime exercise off Panay Island, Western Visayas on Tuesday, June 29.

Meanwhile, they also conducted towing and rescue operations exercise off Panay Island on Tuesday, while the ship is traveling back to Manila to replenish supplies and prepare for the next mission.

The crew members of the BRP Gabriela Silang have practiced and applied their anti-terrorism training off Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Jolo waters, which started on Monday, June 21 until Sunday, June 27.

PCG spokesperson Commodore Armand Balilo said the Coast Guard ships will be continuously patrolling to protect the country’s maritime waters in the West Philippine Sea.
